David Barrow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory - Greenville on Jan. 1, 2026.
It is with great sadness that we announce David "Jeff" Barrow passed away on December 25, 2025, after a short illness. He was born to William (Bill) and Katherine (Kack) Barrow on January 22, 1958.
The family will gather privately to honor his life.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, William Barrow, and his mother, Katherine Barrow. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Lou Ann Barrow; his son, Brantley Barrow (Marah); his daughter, Stephanie Barrow (Elodie); and his three grandchildren, Hobbs, August, and Harriet, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by many beloved extended family members and friends.
A native of Hampton Roads, Virginia, Jeff was born and raised in Virginia Beach before later making his home in New Bern, North Carolina, where he raised his family and built a life he deeply cherished. Jeff proudly served his country during Operation Desert Storm. He was the son of a World War II veteran, a legacy that instilled in him a profound respect for service and country.
Jeff dedicated forty years of his professional life as a Civil Servant with the Naval Aviation Depot, where he was known for his dependability, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence. His career was not simply a job, but a reflection of his belief in duty, responsibility, and contributing to something greater than himself.
He will be remembered most for his service to his country and his unwavering devotion to his family. Jeff had a lifelong love of sports, aviation, and playing golf, interests he enjoyed throughout his life. He was also a member of Ruth Lodge #89 in Norfolk, Virginia, where he served in leadership roles. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. His grandchildren were a constant source of happiness, and he delighted in every moment spent with them.
Jeff was steady, loyal, and deeply caring-someone others could rely on without question. His quiet strength, generous heart, and love for family will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.

Yesterday

So sorry to hear about Jeff's passing, I had the opportunity to met Jeff and Mrs. Barrow back in 2017, I met them as just another couple but soon they were like family to me, from day one, it was if I had known Jeff forever, always greeted me with a smile, I will miss seeing that smile but mostly miss him and his kind disposition!!!!
