David Baxter Obituary
David Leo Baxter was born on February 13, 1954 in Appleton City, Missouri to Mary B Wisner and Leo Baxter. He passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, surrounded by his significant other, children and grandchildren at the age of 70.
David was raised just outside Osceola where he attended school and graduated in 1972. After graduating he helped raise 4 children; Christina Marie, Marjorie Jeanette, Jennifer Margot, and David Leo II. He always had great work ethic and would work daily, sun up to sun down, doing construction for over 50 years. Even with David's long work hours he found time to umpire a front yard game of wiffle ball and attend sporting events.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking on his smoker, mowing, and anything outdoors. He also enjoyed just sitting outside and watching the birds and squirrels after filling the feeders. His love for dogs was always apparent and he was prepared to make friends with the hesitant ones via peanut butter crackers.
In 1998 David moved to Warrensburg, Missouri and began a new chapter of his life. He met his significant other, Marge Dickerson, and they began
making new memories together. The two enjoyed being outdoors riding the four wheeler, looking for arrowheads and special rocks in Bear Creek. David and Marge acquired a large blended family with a total of 6 kids and 16 grandchildren. David loved all his kids and grandkids and was always willing to share his expertise with them and wouldn't hesitate to give every penny he had to them. His spare time was spent helping others in the Knob Noster and Warrensburg communities, living his best life.
David was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Mary Baxter, sister Francie Roberts, and brother Kevin Baxter. He is survived by his brother Mark (Sharon) Baxter, the love of his life Marge Dickerson, daughters Tina Owen, Marji Gehr, Jennifer Margot (Justin) Crump and son David Baxter; grandchildren: Coby & Caleb Owen, Isabel Martinez, Jacob & Joshua Gehr, Brandon Townsell, Madison Crump, Dalei, Logan and Espen Baxter; bonus children Michelle (Dan) Schubert, David (Stephanie) Moll and bonus grandchildren Brent, Addie, Eli and Cambrie Schubert and AJ and Kiera Moll.
David wasn't a man of many words but he quietly loved us all.
