David Beck from Coldspring, Texas passed away in his home on Sunday, October 20th, 2024. He was born on May 23rd, 1948, in Temple, Texas to Harold and Myrtle Faye (Hughes) Beck.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, which he joined in 1968 after being drafted to serve throughout the Vietnam War. He earned both a good conduct medal and a national defense service medal.
David married the love of his life, Julie Cook, on May 6th, 1967, and they welcomed their daughter Shannan in 1971.
David retired from GTE in 2000 and began working at the Livingston Walmart Automotive Department in 2006, where he was a proud employee, loved his customers, and made many wonderful friends.
David is survived by his daughter, Shannan, granddaughter Melissa and husband Matthew, grandson Russell, great granddaughters Aubrey, Stella, and Penelope, great grandson David, brother Michael Wayne, an aunt, along with nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, his parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bellwood Memorial Park & Cemetery in Temple.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you enjoy some Jack Daniel’s in his honor.
