David Bengtson

David A. Bengtson, 71, of East Hampton, husband of Elizabeth "Liz" (Leonard) Bengtson, passed away Saturday (February 8, 2025) at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Born in New Britain, son of the late Thure and Mildred (Peterson) Bengtson, he was a former Hebron resident for forty years, moving to East Hampton two years ago. Dave was a graduate of Suffield Academy, class of 1972, he received a degree in economics from Colby College in Waterville, Maine in 1976. Dave was sales manager at Johnson Gage in Bloomfield, where he worked for thirty five years, retiring in 2018. He was longtime president of the Bay Point Club in East Hampton.
Besides his wife Liz, he leaves two sons, John D. Bengtson of Boise, ID and Peter Bengtson and his wife Majalya Fernando of Riverdale Park, MD; a daughter, Sarah Bengtson and her husband Jason Ponder of Washington, DC; one granddaughter, Claire Ponder; two nieces and several special cousins.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on June 28, 2025 11AM at Bay Point Club, 24 Spellman Point Rd. East Hampton, CT 06424. There are no calling hours.
