David "Pudge" R. Bennett Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13th, 2026. He was born on December 4, 1960, to David Bennett Sr. and Sue Ann (Gilbert) Bennett. He was preceded in death by both parents; sons Andrew Jordan Bennett and CJ Cottrell, as well as his brothers Chris Bennett and Michael Bennett. Pudge is survived by his life partner Cheryl Pacheco; son Adam Bennett (Brianna); daughters Tarah Bennett (Drew), Jacki Cottrell (Richard), Jami Murdock; brothers Kevin Bennett, Tim Bennett (Dana), Matt Bennett (Amanda); sister Kate Bennett (Daniel Hardin); step-parents Paul Fagg and Kathi Bennett; several nieces and nephews as well as 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way. Pudge loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman. One accomplishment that Pudge was proud of is building the dugouts and concessions at Clinton Little League. He loved baseball, which he played during college at Vincennes University. He enjoyed coaching baseball for many years. His favorite spot was Sugar Creek for fishing small mouth bass. Pudge loved his kids, grandchildren, and his brothers. He also loved Cheryl very much. Pudge was a free spirit and lived life on his own terms. Visitation for Pudge will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with services starting at 1:00 PM.
