With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Benoit at the age of 66, surrounded by his family on Friday, December 15, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment and unwavering dedication.

David was the cherished and devoted husband of Lori (Campopiano) Benoit. He grew up in South Attleboro and was the son of the late Rita (Martel) Benoit. Professionally, David stayed busy - he spent many years of his life as a corrections officer for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections. David's love for baseball and sports also led him to a long-time position with the Pawtucket Red Sox. His dedication to hard work did not stop there; in his “retirement”, he continued his journey delivering parts for Tasca, a testament to his unyielding commitment to hard work.

Personally, David's greatest joy came from his family. His unwavering love and commitment to ensuring the well-being of his wife, children and grandchildren were unparalleled. As a devoted husband and loving father, he took pride in caring for his family. Whether on family vacations in Maine, at PC Friars games as a season ticket holder, or spending 30 years with Lori cheering on the Red Sox in Florida during Spring Training, David understood that sports were not just a pastime but an extension of family.  David was so well-loved because he sincerely cared for anyone he would meet, which happened frequently because David would make friends anywhere he went.

In addition to his beloved wife, David leaves behind a legacy carried on by his loving children: Ashley Langmead (Dan Langmead) of Attleboro, Massachusetts, Tyler Benoit (Jessica Benoit) of Kissimmee, Florida and his doggy daughter, Bella. He was the adored Grandpa of Lily and Parker Langmead, the caring brother of Karen Charron (Andrew Charron), Peter Benoit (Robin Barlow), and Cheryl Colleran (Robert Colleran), the brother-in-law of Sue Falso (Paul Falso) and was loved by his extended family and many friends.

David Benoit's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. May he rest in peace, and may his family find solace in the beautiful memories he leaves behind.

The family would like to thank the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Roger Williams Medical Center for their compassion and care.

His funeral will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 4 p.m.- 7p.m.
