David D. Bernie, 62, of Jeannette, went into the loving arms of his Savior Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born May 4, 1959, in Greensburg, a son of the late Dominic and Cora (Birdsell) Bernello (Bernie). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald Bernie. David worked as a transporter for Nutrition Inc. and was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Greensburg. He enjoyed golf, cars, motorcycles and was strong physically, in character and in his faith. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diann (Gressley) Bernie; sons, Dominic Eugene and his wife, Rebecca, of Phenix City, Ala., and Destin Troy, of Jeannette; granddaughter, Mackenzie Renee; siblings, Barry Bernie and wife, Carol, of Indiana, Pa., Donna DeSalvo and husband, Joseph, of Greensburg, and Sharon Deluzio and husband, Charles, of North Huntingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for all will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, in Grace Baptist Church, 4463 State Route 136, Greensburg. Friends and family are welcome an hour early at 5:30 p.m. to a reception prior to the memorial service. A private inurnment will take place on a later date at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
