DAVID MARIONS BLACKNALL

DAVID MARIONS BLACKNALL David Blacknall passed from this earth on January 3, 2026. He passed after a brief illness at Avir Nursing and Rehab in Sherman, Texas. David Marion Blacknall was born on July 18, 1930, in Denison, Texas. He graduated from High School in June 1947. He went to North Texas State University (NTSU) for 3 1/2 years, interrupting his studies to serve in the US Navy. He was honorably discharged in November 1954 and returned to NTSU in January 1958 and earned a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry. He worked at Sherwin-Williams paint plant at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas for about 18 months prior to joining Texas Instruments in August 1959. He retired from TI in Richardson, Texas after almost 26 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ernest Blacknall. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Lynn Blacknall, of Dallas, Texas and Karen Dixon and husband Billy Dixon of Sherman, Texas. He married Nina V. Pearson in 1962 and adopted her two daughters. He helped raise the girls while working at TI. They divorced in 1972. He was a responsible father the rest of his life, maintaining close relationships with Nina, Karen and Carol. He could be found riding around town in the jeep, stopping to visit his many friends he'd made over the years. He was an avid reader, loved cooking and loved opportunities to help people. He had a group of friends he met weekly for lunch at taste of China and will be truly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Braxton, officiating.
