David V. Blake

1947 - 2026

David V. Blake of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the age of 78.

He was born on April 13, 1947 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Francis and Concha Blake. David was blessed with an inordinate number of friends and acquaintances who loved and greatly enjoyed his comradery. He will be sorely missed. David is survived by his nephew, Rick Messelling. Two grand nephews Kyle (Kaley) Messelling, and Tyler Messelling. Three great grand nephews Braylen Scott Messelling, Matthew Blake Messelling, & Leighton Lee Messelling.

David was preceded in death by his parents Francis & Concha Blake. His sister Martha Blake-Messelling. And niece, Tracee McIntosh-Messelling.

David graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1965, and entered the United States Army. David proudly and honorably served his country during a tour in Vietnam, & was awarded the Bronze Star. He was also commissioned as an officer, achieving the rank of Captain. He then moved to Houston where he learned the building and construction business, ultimately arriving in Fredericksburg where he built many beautiful homes and commercial buildings for various clients. David was an avid golfer, but his greatest treasure was the friendships he built and the time he shared with those that he loved. He especially enjoyed evenings at the Lincoln Street Wine Bar, where good conversation, laughter & familiar faces made him feel right at home.
