David (Adam) Boaz, 53, of Norwalk CT passed away unexpectedly during the early morning hours on March 9th in Norwalk CT. Born December 28th, 1970, in Syracuse New York, he was the son ofLorraine & Michael Daugherty and Barbara Stebbins & the late David Edward Boaz.He is survived by his loving fiancé, Wendy Macchia of Norwalk CT, his twin sons, Adam Boaz, Jr of East Greenwich, RI, Michael Boaz of Warwick, RI, and his sister, Susan Boaz of Davidson, NC.
Adam was the definition of caring, always going out of his way to make an impact on every life he touched. He attended Duke University and finished his bachelor's degree at Worcester State College. He most recently earned his master's degree from Fairfield University. He served as Academic Dean at the King School in Stamford CT and was also part of the English Faculty. His teaching style was as unique as he was, making him well-liked by his students and colleagues alike. Adam taught with energy, passion, and excitement that was contagious to countless students over the last 2 decades. He was not always a man of many words, but when he spoke, he left everyone in the room on the edge of their seats, waiting for the next word.
Adam seized each day with great joy, determination, and purpose. He took immense passion and pride in all that he did. Adam had a great love for sports, especially soccer and the New England Patriots. This overflowed into his coaching of various sports during his academic career. He was also a deeply creative cook, using food as a way of expressing his love and creativity with each dish he prepared.
Adam enjoyed being outdoors, taking any opportunity to enjoy nature's view. He found calm and peace on beaches and was particularly fond of Cape Cod and Wilmington. He would often use his time near the ocean to reflect and as inspiration for his writing. Often handwriting his work, Adam loved writing poetry and published two collections of his favorite pieces. He had a deep love for Shakespeare and enjoyed acting in countless plays with Curtain Call in Stamford CT, Cape Cod Theater Company, and Cotuit Center for the Arts.
Adam brought the same zeal to his recovery and was looking forward to celebrating his 13th year of sobriety this year. He was devoted to being a strong support to others who were still struggling with addiction, always lending a listening ear, thoughtful words, honesty, or simple comfort.
Please join us in celebrating Adam's brilliance, humor, and light. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 16th, from 2-5 PM, with his eulogy being delivered at 4 PM at Collins Funeral Home 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851. Friends are also invited to share words and memories as well.

I worked with David at FL Chamberlain School many years ago. I was a lost soul at that point in my life. David was an amazing coworker that helped me find direction through his kindness and his direct (sometimes harsh) advice and opinion. I am forever grateful to him. It warms my heart that he found someone who cherished him. Hugs to his Fiance and his children. The world is a lesser place now that he has left.
