David Larry Bocook "Butch"
1947-2024
David Larry Bocook, affectionately known as Butch, of Burlington, OH, passed gently away surrounded by his family at Community Hospice, at the age of 77 on October 18, 2024
Butch was born on a April 25th, 1947. He was the blessing of the late Ed and Ruth Chaffin Bocook. He attended Ceredo Kenova High School. Butch served his country proudly in the United States Navy before continuing his career as a welder at ACF. If you knew Butch, then you knew he had the best poker face. He loved a good game of Poker and the friendly competition he brought. Butch loved to be outdoors and enjoyed the relaxtion that fishing gave him. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his loving children and grandchildren, family his and Burlington family. He was a fun man with a unbridled spirit who loved to dance and have a good time. He made many memories with his family and friends. It is these memories they will hold on to and cherish until they may see Butch again.
Butch leaves behind his two devoted children Robin Scarberry of Burlington, OH, and David Allen Bocook and his wife Denise of
Catlettsburg, KY., four precious grandchildren Ryan(Morgan) Scarberry, Kaila (Anthony Bias) Scarberry, Hunter Bocook, and Brooklyn Bocook, six great grandchildren, Jaiden, Zaydence, Raelynn, Kylen, Auden, and Gunner, three brothers Bill Bocook and his wife Pat of Proctorville, OH, John Bocook and his wife Rene of Protorville, OH, and Charles "Snook" Bocook and his wife Pam of
Catlettsburg, KY., four sisters, Lolly Eaken of Chesapeake, OH, Mary Hutchison of Huntington, WV, Lou Ann Justice of Symmes Valley, OH, and Donna "Suzie" Hannah and her husband Tom, Frankfort, WV, Sisters-in-Law Marlene Bocook, Bea Bocook, and Judy Bocook. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Butch is enjoying a Heavenly Reunion with his wife Priscilla Karen Bocook, one son in law Paul Scarberry, brothers Jack Bocook, Jim Bocook, Alan Bocook, Eddie Bocook, Danny Bocook, Joe Bocook, and William Jackson Bocook, one sister-in-law Sandra Bocook and three brothers-in-laws, Vic Eaken, Steve Hutchinson, and Rick Justice.
A funeral service to honor the life of Butch, will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, located at 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg, beginning at 12:30 pm. Visitation for friends and family will be held prior to the service from 10am to 12:30pm.
Butch will be laid to rest following the service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE.
