David M. Bonnot, 81, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2023, surrounded by members of his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Tina L. Bonnot: his mother, Mary Elizabeth Bonnot; his father Dr. Bernard Bonnot; his sister, Mary Sue Komorowski; and his son, David Matthew Bonnot. David is survived by his children, Edward Kopas, Kimberly Cook, Denise (Bill) Mirando, Tina (John) Cockerill, Tabatha (William) White; his brothers, Chuck (Diane), Fr. Bob, and Pete (Jan) and 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
David was born and raised in Canton, OH, grew up in N. Canton attending St. Paul's and Canton Central Catholic schools then graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a lifelong supporter of Notre Dame and possessed a deep passion for Fighting Irish football. He was employed with the General Electric Corporation for over 25 years, living in both Cleveland, OH and Bridgeport, CT. Upon his retirement from GE, he and his wife Tina relocated to Brentwood, TN where he was employed by Northern Telecom until his final retirement.
David was an avid golfer and a member of the Legends Golf Club where he enjoyed spending time with his many close friends.
David radiated love, his catholic faith, and the Spirit of God in everything he did! He embodied generosity and volunteered with many organizations including, The Room in the Inn, Habitat for Humanity and various prison ministries. He was an active member at Holy Family Catholic Church as an Usher, lecture, and Eucharistic Minister to the homebound and church members in assisted living communities.
Visitation hours will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood on Friday, December 8th at 4:00PM - 6:00PM and Saturday, December 9th, 11:00AM-12:00PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at 12:00PM on Saturday December 9th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Room in the Inn, https://donorbox.org/riti_onlinegifts or Alive Hospice, https://www.alivehospice.org/donate.
