Rita Marie Bonnot

Rita Marie Bonnot, 86, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Tipton Oak Manor. She was born on March 12, 1938 in Frankenstein, Missouri. She was the youngest daughter of the late Ferdinand (Fred) and Annie J. (Kremer) Backes. She was united in marriage in Frankenstein, Missouri, on November 30, 1957, to Charles Richard Bonnot, who proceeded her in death on October 7, 1981.
Rita was a graduate of Fatima High School. She attended Nichols Career Center where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree in 1983. She worked at St. Mary's Medical Center from 1983 until her retirement in 2006.
She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, where she volunteered and served on several committees throughout the years.
Rita enjoyed square dancing with Charlie and spending time with her friends, "The Falloons".
She is survived by Jean (Jim) Lambirth, Carol (Ralph) Schaefer, Joan (Richard) Schaefer, DeAnne (Tim) Rickabaugh, Judy (Brian) Whitburn. She also survived by her grandchildren, Holly Schaefer, Laura Schaefer, Brad Wilson, Lauren Wilson, Wes (Allanah Roberts) Lambirth, Katy Lambirth, Drew Garza, Melanie Garza, Jennifer (Jared) Cross, Justin (Erin) Schaefer, seven great-grandchildren, and brother-in-law Larry Keilholz. She was proceeded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law; Josephine (Bud) Dudenhoeffer, Florence (Al) Dudenhoeffer, Nelda Keilholz, Bernadine (Andy) Schulte, and Mary Agnes Backes.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow with Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expression of sympathy can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; St. Joseph's Cathedral School; or to Masses for Rita and Charlie.
