Ruth Hannah Hall

Ruth Hannah Eshom Hall, 96, of Jefferson in Missouri, passed away February 16, 2026.

She was born January 7, 1930, in Warsaw, Illinois, she was the daughter of Carl Adam and Elisabeth F. Spitze Mitze. She married Dennis Eshom on September 7, 1950, in Warsaw, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1993. On November 18, 1978, she married the love of her life, Harry F. Hall, Sr. in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Quincy. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2008.

She was an RN at St. Mary Hospital for 42 years and opened the Intensive Care Unit in 1996. She was a member of both the A.N.A and I. N.A. Ruth was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; the evening Ladies Aide, where she held various offices; and Lutheran Women Missionary League where she served as president. She was a board member of Adams County Homemakers and Area Agency on Aging, where she served as president; R.S.V.P. for 24 years; St. Mary Auxiliary for 34 years, B.V.I.P, where she was assistant treasurer; Hospitality House, where she was vice president of housing; and a member of the American Heart Association for 30 years. She was a member of the Quincy TEA Party and was a volunteer at The Castle.

She is survived by Two Daughters; Marti Thruston, Jefferson City, Mo; Marcia and (Jack) Horn, Erie Colorado; One Stepson, Harry F. Hall Jr. and (Barb), Florissant, Mo, One Brother, William Carl Mitze (Pat) Monticello Il, Five Grandchildren, Stacey (Ron) Harness, Florissant Mo, Ryan Thruston (Nichole) Jefferson City, Mo, Kari Thruston, Jefferson City, Mo; Michael Wilcox, Decatur, Il and Willow Garwood, Four Great Grandchildren, Nathan Gruen, Rory, Charlotte and Katherine Thruston.

In Addition to her Husband Harry F. Hall Sr. she was preceded in death by her Parents, Carl and Elisabeth Mitze, a Brother Irwin S. Mitze, four Sisters, Charlotte Fiedler, Lucille Taylor, Esther McClure and Bette Mohart, Daughter, Maureen Wilcox, a Son-In-Law Daryl Thruston and Granddaughter Amy Wilcox.

Friends will be received for Visitation on Friday February 20, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran, Honey Creek from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Funeral Services will be on Saturday February 21, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran, Honey Creek at with a Visitation at 10:00am to11:00am with the Funeral at 11:00am with a Burial to follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy Illinois at 3:00pm.
