David Norman Bowling, born on February 19, 1956, in Hyden, KY, son of the late Paul Bowling and the late Lillian Fields Bowling. He  passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Thousandsticks, Kentucky. He was a dedicated employee at Recycling Fields of Dayton, Ohio, where his commitment to work was only matched by his devotion to family and community.

David was known for his unwavering spirit and warm personality. David is also remembered fondly by his sisters Wanda Collett of Somerset, Kentucky, Pauline Disbennett of Gahanna, Ohio, and Brenda Middleton of Dayton, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren, including Nathan Gonzalez, Samantha Gonzalez, Isabelle Gonzalez, Alexis Morgan and husband Christian, Kaylee Bennett, Alyna Bowling, David Bowling, Melissa Morgan, Tina Ponds, Tracey Chapperl Justin Chappell, James Cornett, Daniel Cornett, Brittany Cornett, Mark Cornett, Steven Cornett, Josh Cornett, Aaron Cornett, Jason Cornett, Coler Bowling, and Tyler Wilson.

David is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul and Lillian Marie Fields Bowling; his wife, Zelma Smith Bowling; his first wife, Vicky Bowling, the mother of his children; his son, Michael Bowling; brothers Harold, Jimmy, Timmy, and Roger Bowling; and his son-in-law, Santiago Gonzalez.

David's life was a tapestry of rich memories and accomplishments, woven together by his love for his family and his passion for his hobbies. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and the countless lives he touched.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. - Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025 at the .Stinnett Pentecostal Church at Essie, KY. with Rev. James Bowling, Jr, Rev. Ralph Brown, and Rev. Denver Brock officiating.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. - Monday- Feb. 24, 2025, at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service at  the Bowen's Creek Cemetery at Essie, KY.
