In Loving Memory of David L Boyce Sr., lovingly known as "Cokey," of Concord Ohio was a husband, Father, Brother and Friend. A good and honest man who touched the lives of many. He was born on February 19, 1930, in Barton Mississippi and passed away on January 18, 2024 at the VA Hospital. David's journey began when he was drafted into the army during the Korean War, bravely serving his country. His dedication and commitment to protecting our nation were admirable.
One of David's most memorable qualities was his infectious laugh, which could brighten any room and bring joy to those around him. He had a remarkable ability to get along with everyone he met, and his warm personality made him loved by many. He would help and teach anyone. He was smart, there wasn't nothing he couldn't do. David had a deep passion for cars, particularly Ford cars, which he cherished. He enjoyed the thrill of driving and traveling vacations in which he appreciated the freedom it brought him.
Professionally, David dedicated 14 years of his life to Rayon mechanic specialist and 25 years to Painesville Lubrizol Chemical and Stationary Engineer. His expertise and hard work were highly regarded in his field. He was on the Lubrizol's Bowling League 225 club.
David was a skilled TV repairman serving the community of Painesville with dedication and expertise. His knowledge of Tv's and Vcr's was unmatched. He took great pride in his work was ready to help anyone in need. He loved photography too, loved taking pictures to capture the moments in time to have everlasting memories.
David's family was a source of immense love and pride for him. The survivors are his sister Jean follar and his
sons Paul Boyce, Lamart Boyce, Tina Micheau, as well as his grandson Maurice Boyce. He also leaves behind great- grandchildren Gabriel and Michael Boyce, Lenona Boyce, Deanna Major, Maxine Dowdy, Seal, Ann, Kate and Joyce of Memphis Tenn, and James and Mami of Chicago Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, and Compton families. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty M Boyce, in 2011, and his oldest son, David L Boyce Jr., in 2013, Mother Estella Hayes and his brother Shoop.
Throughout his life, David formed close bonds with friends who became like
family. The Abney's, The Adam's, The Baker's, The Burton's, The Cooper's, The Cross's, The Costell's, The Forte's, The Lyon's, The Gipson's, The Glenn's, The Edmund's, The Mahnke's, The Martin's, The Gonzales, The Iboni's and Family, The Molnar's, The Morgan's, The Lohr's, The Robinson's, The Sam's, The Smith's, The Stewart's, The Oberstar's, The Walsh's, The Webber's, The Wilson's, The William's were among many who shared many cherished memories with David and his family.
David's love for fireworks and lighting them for the neighborhood to see every year and roller coasters at Geauga Lake by taking the neighborhood kids brought him excitement and a sense of adventure. He
embraced the thrill and joy that these experiences provided.
