Nancy Koenig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson Funeral Home on Jan. 17, 2026.
Nancy Ann Koenig (nee: Erickson) Age 74, of Painesville, OH passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026 at Tripoint Hospital. She was born April 10,1951 in Sterling, Kansas to the late Clemens B. and Barbara Lee (nee: Arnold) Erickson. She is survived by her daughter Chelsea Koenig-Reeves (John); sisters, Linda Johnson, Susan Jecminek (Dave), Brother Byron Erickson, niece Traci Sullivan (Jason, children Tyler and Thomas), nephews Nathan Jecminek (Kambi, children Taylor and Maximus) and Wayne Struble (Tara, child Bran). Preceded in death by Brother, Bernard Erickson and nephew, Aaron Jecminek. Nancy was raised in Salina, Kansas until she moved away in 1967. She lived in Guam, Colorado, and many years in Montana before eventually settling in Ohio to be closer to family. She was full of personality, creativity, and loved her family. She enjoyed painting and drawing, baking fun cakes and cookies for family birthdays, decorating her home, tending to her flower garden, and soaking up the sunshine. Her fun sense of style was unmistakable, and she was a true fashionista who loved shopping, even modeling for a time in Guam. She also loved collecting frogs, butterflies, and gnomes, whether as knickknacks, bits of clothing, or linens that simply made her smile. Music from the '60s and '70s could get her dancing, and she sang favorites like "Tiny Bubbles" and "Froggy Went a Courtin'" throughout her life. She was a true redhead, her humor was quick and playful, her words always laced with creativity. She loved her friends and family with a fierce and generous heart. She met life with a flare, stubbornness, and a spark of determination. A Celebration of Life will be held at Homestead II in Painesville, OH and Salina, KS.
