David Lawrence Branham, age 72, of
Loudon, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, February 9, 2025 due to complications of melanoma cancer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 10, 1952, son of the late Lawrence "Curly" and Dolores (Davis) Branham. He was a 1971 graduate of Urbana High School in Urbana, Ohio. He later attended Ohio State University. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, Tennessee; past member of National Farm Broadcasters Association; Ohio Agricultural Council; Ohio Auctioneers Association; American Society of Panama; Alpha Zeta honorary fraternity; board chairman Skyview Ranch church camp; scoutmaster Boy Scout Troop 195; recipient of the Ohio State University Centennial Award and State and American FFA degrees; served as his senior class president and was elected State President of the Ohio FFA Association. His professional career began in radio in 1972 while attending Ohio State University when he was hired to announce farm market reports on WRFD radio in Columbus, Ohio. Three years later he was promoted to Farm Director of the radio station hosting a one hour agri-business talk show over the noon hour each day. He became a popular keynote and banquet speaker and began announcing tractor and truck pulling events for the National Tractor Pullers Association. Later he served a stint as Public Relations Director for both the Ohio Sate Fair as well as Bob Evans Farms Restaurants before embarking on his career as a licensed auctioneer and professional horse show announcer. During his 31 year horse show announcing career, he was contracted to announce hundreds of world class equine events across the country, retiring in 2020. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dolores Branham; sister, Amy Denise Jewell and grandson, Boaz Branham. He is survived by his wife, Aurora "Chola" Aguilar Branham; his six children: Shane Branham, New Albany, Ohio; Joshua (Jenn) Branham, Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; Shawna (Brian) Murlin, Ashville, Ohio; Justin (Tabitha) Branham, Lynchburg, Virginia; Carlos (Magda) Santamaria, David (Alejandra) Santamaria, both of Anton, Republic of Panama; eleven grandchildren: Grace, Faith and Joy Murlin; Lydia, Guelah and Nellianna Branham; Tyndale Branham; Claire, Camila and Mariana Santamaria; David Santamaria; sister Connie (Wesley) Channell; beloved brother Bradley (Kim) Branham; brother-in-law Carl Jewell; and 26 nieces and nephews. Services honoring and celebrating Daves life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, February 15th, 2025 in McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Brian Courtney and James Harrison officiating.
