David C. Briner, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born March 5, 1948, in Austin, MN, the only child of Charles E. Briner and Beatrice (Musgrove) Briner. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Randy, and sister-in-law, Linda.

Dave graduated from high school in Austin, MN, received his bachelor's degree from Mankato State College, earned his master's in education from the U of MN. He taught high school German in Monticello for 30 years and two years at the University of St. Thomas. A highlight of his teaching career was taking students on multiple trips to Germany.

Dave and Merry were married in 1972 and raised three sons in Monticello, where they all attended high school. In retirement, Dave and Merry took several sea cruises including Alaska, a trip to Hawaii and toured the entire contiguous United States in their RV.

Dave is survived by his wife, Merry Kay (Saunders) Briner, three sons, Andrew of Virginia, Aaron of Minneapolis and Adam (Trisha) of Farmington; four grandchildren, Charlee, Caleb, Avery and Luca, brothers-in-law Ronald (Loretta) Saunders of Orlando, FL, Richard Saunders of Torrance, CA, sister-in-law Jill of Plymouth, two nieces, four nephews and many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at Farmington Lutheran Church on Thursday, November 20th, 10 a.m. visitation, 11 a.m. service, followed by a luncheon. Interment will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
