David Lee Brokaw, age 83, of 68319 Morristown Flushing Road, Belmont, Ohio died at 8:48 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
Born March 29, 1942 in Martins Ferry, Ohio; he was a son of the late Fred Leroy Brokaw and Katherine Elizabeth Kennedy Brokaw.
He was a 1960 graduate of Cadiz High School. David worked for his father as an auto body technician at B&B Motor Services in Cadiz for seven years, then went to Consol where he was a heavy equipment operator for thirty years, retiring in 1996. He also was a co-founder, owner, and operator of the Hillbilly Hide-Away Campground of Freeport until 2004.
David enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Belmont and the Belmont County Museum Association. He was a devoted husband and loved to help his daughters and their families with various projects and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His wife of sixty-four years, Loruma "Lori" Jones Brokaw, survives. They were married March 11, 1961. Also surviving are three daughters: Susan Lenevich of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kathy (Rich) Delbridge of Belmont, and Dawn Leanne (John) Brokaw-Howell of Flushing; five grandsons: Craig (Roberta) Lenevich of Marion Center, PA, Vincent Lenevich of Indiana, PA, Richie (Casie) Delbridge of Fort Wayne, Indiana, John (Cecilia) Howell of Port Royal, PA and Ben (Devin) Howell of Flushing; great-grandchildren: Faith, Craig, Emmett Lenevich, David (Davy) Howell; and John and Cecilia will be adding another great-grandchild soon; sister: Elizabeth Murray of Sun City Center, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred C. Brokaw.
Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High St., Freeport, Ohio handled cremation arrangements for David.
Burial will take place in Minksville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Belmont Church of Christ, PO Box 54, Belmont, Ohio 43718 or Flushing Volunteer Department, 104 East High Street, Flushing, OH 43977.

To the entire Brokaw family. Lori we are saddened to hear about David but as a follower of the Lord he's rejoicing with his Savior.
