David Brooks Obituary
Born on October 8, 1954 in Hampton, Virginia, David was someone who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to others. He was a graduate of Clinton High School Class of 1972 and a member of North Star Church. He found peace and joy being outdoors especially tending to his garden and flowers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert T. Brooks and Stella Ruth Brooks; brother, Carl Brooks.
He leaves behind his wife of over 46 years, Linda Gail Brooks; son, Josh Brooks; daughter, Elizabeth Acuff and husband Josh; grandchildren, James David Acuff and Abigail Grace Acuff; brothers, James Brooks and wife Susan of Maryville; Earl Brooks and wife Joyce of Clinton.
Receiving of Friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 7:00 pm with Tyler Bivens officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 with Full Military Honors rendered.

I was saddened when I learned of David's passing, worked with him for many years. Great guy that loved God and his family. I am left with many good memories. I pray that his loved ones feel the peace of God and will be able to reflect on the good memories they have.
