I want to share this with you. It is so important to me and may bring tears but allows me to celebrate who David is in my life.
My fondest recollection of my recently departed brother David was as a child when we watched the Steelers versus the Raiders on December 23, 1972. David was a 9 year-old sports enthusiast whose passion grew throughout his life. I went to the kitchen to get something to eat and heard David screaming and cheering. I ran to the living room to see the replay of Franco Harris catching a deflected pass and running for the game winning touchdown. The catch was titled the "immaculate reception" an historic event for football and loving memory of my brother that I will replay in my mind until I rejoin him in heaven.

For David's Family. I wasn't able to attend David's Funeral but I was finally able to "get" David towards the end of his life. We had stubbornness and being highly opinionated in common and so for some time, we would manage to lock horns. We were both a bit eccentric which deepened the gap at times. In spite of all this, we actually learned to like each other. This past year has been a year of ribbing, joking and enjoying the group of coworkers/friends that we had made. My last thoughts of him were that we finally got past an impasse. We shared a few quiet (which was rare)words just before his going on vacation. I told my girlfriend that I finally got to really know this man we called "Popeye" and liked him. You couldn't find a more upfront, sincere and helpful person. Your family should feel proud to have had him as a family member. I am sure he will be deeply missed as he was the moment I found out he had left us. May the goodness he possessed, forever be remembered.

To Kelly & Ashley,
Words cannot express our heartfelt sympathy during this sad & difficult time. Unfortunately, we never had the pleasure of meeting David, but from what I read from his brother, Steve, he was an amazing guy! I am sure you have great memories that you both shared and they will get you through the days ahead. Hold those memories close to your heart & cherish them forever! That is what got me through it all when I lost Uncle Willis in May. You have a great family who loves you very much and will always be there for you as well as your friends. Even though we are miles apart, rest assured you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
Love always,
Aunt Marg, Aunt Mary & Uncle Tony

I worked with Dave since October of 2014. Admired him for doing what he had to do as in moving to find employment, etc. He was very outspoken but you knew what he was thinking. He will definitely be missed

My brother was a gift from God. He was unique in so many ways, yet similar to each of us as we walked the road of life. Dave shared some very special times with me throughout life and I praise God for them. He was a devoted and dedicated man who loved his family...to include the dogs (LOL). His love and knowledge of sports was incredible; was a sports database!
He will be missed greatly but reunited with us when we meet him again in heaven. Our tears remind us of the love and memories we have and our smiles for having him.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. See you on the other side my brother! I love you.

To the family...
I worked closely with Dave at Lowes. We were ,I would say, partners there until I left a year ago. He and I worked perfectly together. Always causing a ruckus. He was definitely opinionated which is one of the characteristics that made Dave who he was. We called him Popeye there. Shocking how I just visited the guys from the old team like a week ago. He, as he always did, looked healthier than anyone in that store. Rest In Peace Dave. I'll see you on the other side brother..
