David Perry "Brownie" Brown, 80, of Huntingdon, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his residence. Born May 3, 1945 in Entriken, he was a son of the late William Perry and Marguerite P. (Harris) Brown. He was united in marriage to the former Connie Ann Reihart on September 21, 1983. His wife of 41 years survives. In addition to this wife, he is survived by a son, Patrick V. Suter and his wife, Janet, of Washington Twp., NJ; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by four siblings, William S. Brown, Mary (Brown) Souders, Martha (Brown) King, and Frances (Brown) Hocker. He attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Huntingdon. Brownie was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 976 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #223, both of Huntingdon, as well as, A.B.A.T.E. of PA. He attended Huntingdon Area High School. Brownie enlisted into the U.S. Army on January 21, 1963, and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on January 13, 1966, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class, and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal. In his earlier years, he worked in construction where he specialized in building and remodeling, roofing, and siding. Later, he became employed as a correctional officer at SCI Huntingdon, where he worked for many years until his retirement. Brownie had a passion for riding motorcycle and enjoyed attending Kars & Koffee on Saturdays at the Swigart Museum, Huntingdon. Friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M.on Tuesday, May 20th, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Derrick Suttles officiating. Interment will follow in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township, Huntingdon, where military honors will be accorded.
