David Eisenhower Brown passed away on the 28th of December, 2025. He was born to the late Benjamin Fletcher Brown and Beulah Gardner Brown on the 8th of May, 1952 – the first baby born at the new Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville. David was a lifelong farmer and spent many years cutting timber with his brothers and brother-in-law. He drove a school bus for the Yadkin County Schools for a number of years and retired from the Yadkin County Parks and Recreation Department. David was a man of faith, having attended church since childhood, most recently attending Marler Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fletcher “Doots”, Parks, Willie and Spencer, his brothers-in-law, Charles McMahan, James Allison and Ronnie Pinnix. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Swaim Brown, his brother, Edd (Carol) Brown, sister, Bertha McMahan, sister, Nellie (Bob) Wall, sister, Bobbie (Wayne) Hudspeth, sister, Mary Allison, sister, Della Pinnix, brother, George (Vickie) Brown, brother, Joseph Brown, brother-in-law, Dean Swaim, nephews Hank (Tracy) Swaim and Daniel (Emily) Swaim, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. He is further survived by special friends, Jason Walker, Shane Walker, Caleb Poplin, Benny Wilkins, Phil Martin and his many friends at Jerry’s Snack Bar.

David’s family would like to extend special thanks to Rob and niece Gina Peterson, nephew David Hudspeth, Kenny and niece Melissa Reece, and his sister Bobbie Hudspeth. A funeral service honoring David’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, 2:00 pm at Gentry Family Chapel, Jonesville, NC, with Pastor Randy Johnson officiating. A visitation will precede the service from 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm at Gentry Family Funeral Service. The family will be holding a private graveside service for David; Pastor Ronnie Wooten will officiate. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Mountain Valley Hospice, 516 Hawthorne Drive, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville will be serving the Brown family.
