David Ray Bruner, 69, husband of Debbie Morgan Bruner, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at his home in Lancaster, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family and Pastor Bill Bales. He was born in Jessamine County on Sugar Creek Pike on June 9, 1953, to Luther J. Bruner and the late Frances Brumfield Bruner. He was a long-time member of Bethel Christian Church, and a member of the United States Army National Guard. David had worked for years at Brown & Williams Tobacco Corporation, and retired from Housing at the University of Kentucky, where he had been a building maintenance operator. In addition to his wife, Debbie, and father, Luther, he is survived by his son, Bryan Bruner; daughter, Tracy Jo Bruner; brothers, Luther Clay Bruner (Sue), and Robert Bruner (Tammy); sister, Elizabeth Bruner; sister-in-law, Donna Bruner; uncle, Homer Bruner; aunts, Alice Brumfield Bowles, Roberta Bruner Perkins, and Sue Brumfield Holt; grandson, Jayden McBride; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Bruner; sister, Peggy Bruner Stinnett; and a nephew, Lucas Jennette Bruner. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, April 11, at Bethel Christian Church, with Bro. Bill Bales and Pastor Dwayne Dasher officiating. Bearers will be Bryan Bruner, Jayden McBride, Luther Clay Bruner, Charles Houp, Jason Martin, Mike Drury, Mike Trinler, and Kenny Drury. Honorary bearers will be Robert Bruner, nephews, Cecil Gayheart, as well as the Elders and Deacons of Bethel Christian Church. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to go to the Bethel Christian Church Building Fund.
Graveside and Military services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 24, at Maple Grove Cemetery.
