David Bryan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lemley Chapel on Jan. 5, 2026.
On November 21, 2025, our beloved Dad/Grandpa/Brother/Uncle/Cousin/Nephew/Friend passed peacefully in his sleep, joining his loved ones in heaven.

David Doyle Bryan was born on October 12, 1965, in Aberdeen, Washington. He was raised in Skagit County and made it his home. He is an enrolled member of the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe and proud of his heritage. As a young man, and in ceremony, he honorably received his 'Indian Name', "Chi Yad Kanim".

David is survived by his children, Dakota, Violet and Brett Bryan; grand-children, Dayton, Benjamin, Traysen & Merial, all residing in Skagit County; two brothers, Paul Bryan from Louisiana and Denney Bryan from San Diego.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Linda Boome and Doyle and Beverly Bryan; siblings, Sharon Strevy, Janie Reed, Betty-Jean Bryan, Beverlee-June Roberts, Lorna (Annie) Phair and Julie Ann Jefferson.

David started work at a very young age working for his dad's landscaping business. After high school he joined the Army, returning home where he spent a few years as a 'Hot-Shot', fighting wildfires as part of a Native American fire crew. He was part of the original staff for the Skagit Casino, where he worked for many years. During those same years, David was also a police officer with the Upper Skagit Police Department.

David loved his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him! There was not a thing he wouldn't do for them and spending time with them is what he cherished most.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked being outdoors, hunting, fishing and crabbing. He was a huge Seattle sports fan, always cheering on his Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners.

Please join us as we celebrate the life we shared with David. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on December 13, 2025 @ 1:00 at the Upper Skagit Tribal Gymnasium, 25706 Coyote Drive, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284. We will share a meal and stories of our memories with David. Please wear your Seattle sports team attire in remembrance of him.
