Obituary of David J. Bubniak
David J. Bubniak, 81, of Amsterdam, passed away on Friday September 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Amsterdam on January 31, 1942 a son of the late John and Clara Kordyjak Bubniak. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He went on to attend Electronics School in Cleveland Ohio.
Dave was employed from 1963 to 1998 for the General Electric Company in Schenectady as a Burner working in the Foundry and Winding Shop. He was also a TV repairman for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, making homemade wine, growing apples and bee keeping and making honey. He especially enjoyed being with his wife, children and family.
Dave was also a member of the Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department, serving for many years.
He married Vincenta (Santa Maria) Bubniak on June 9, 1963. In addition to his loving wife survivors include his beloved daughter, Lisa Bubniak of Amsterdam and two sons, Ronald (Amy) Bubniak and Richard (Jennifer Sackett) Bubniak of Amsterdam. One aunt, Irene Naumiec of Cohoes, NY and cousins Melinda and John Taber.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 15,2023 at 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday September 14, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral Home. The Cranesville Volunteer Fire Dpartment will pay their respects on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 6:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Unit 1509, New York, NY 10018 or to the Albany American Diabetes Association, 5 Pine West Suite 505, Albany, NY 12205.
