David Burke Obituary
David R. Burke, Jr., 85, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026, at the Montowese Center for Health and Rehabilitation, North Haven. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Kathryn Sirowich Burke. David was born in Bridgeport on March 20th, 1940, and was the son of the late David R. Burke, Sr. and Muriel Mann Burke. He held graduate degrees from Southern CT State University and University of CT. He was a Science Teacher for the North Haven School System and later a Library Media Specialist for the Weston School System until his retirement. David was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and an amateur photographer. After retirement, David enjoyed winters in Florida and attending Red Sox spring training. He also loved spending time with family at their beach house in Rhode Island. Father of Kimberly Burke and her husband, Bill Connors. Grandfather of Callen and Brinley Connors. Brother of the late Robert (Martha Chamberlin) Burke. Also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 3rd, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A prayer service will be conducted at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to My Team Triumph CT Chapter or Norwalk Fireballs Special Olympics Team. Kim, I am so sorry to read of your Dad's passing. I smile as I remember talking with him about Sox baseball back when we were in high school. My best thoughts to your Mom and to you and the rest of your family at this difficult time.
