David Burnside Obituary

He was born on August 27, 1944, in Oneonta, NY. A son of the late Samuel F. and Madeline L. Becker Burnside. He was raised and educated in West Winfield graduating from West Winfield high school. He served in the army for three years and he retired from the railroad where he worked as a truck driver for many years.
On December 14, 1976, he married Arlene J Fish in Richfield Springs, a blessed union of 42 years.
David was active in the community, a member of the lions club.
He loved traveling, playing golf, meeting his many friends for breakfast, building many projects, and driving people to different locations.
David is survived by his special friend that is like a daughter to him Sheila Brooker and her husband Dennis of Schuyler Lake NY and their daughter Holly McLean and her husband Chad McLean of Schuyler Lake NY and their daughter Belle Case and her husband Joel, a son Trenton McLean and his wife Ashley. A sister Martha Welden of Richfield Springs NY, two sisters-in-laws Lois Cursh of Richfield Springs NY, Jean Corso and husband Anthony of Richfield Springs NY and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Arlene, his sisters Edna Chadwell and Mary Callahan.
A celebration of life will be held at the Vet's club in Richfield Springs on Saturday July 12th from 2pm-6pm.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory with donations to the Richfield Springs Vets Club or the Richfield Springs Lions Club.

Arrangements are under the care of the Ottman Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Cherry Valley, NY with cremation taking place at The Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley.
