David Burress Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 3, 2025.
"Now I'm teeing off in Heaven on God's great golf course."

David Alan Burress, 78, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on September 27, 2025, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St., Kansas City, MO. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service following at 11:00 a.m.

David was born on July 16, 1947, to Walter and Martha Burress. On April 28, 1990, he married the love of his life, Carol Burress.

Dave enjoyed starting and improving new adventures, he loved the challenge! He was the owner of several businesses and, for the past 20 years, worked as Regional Sales Manager for Heartland Windows. Many may not know that he was also a talented artist. Dave loved his God, his family, his golf, his Kansas City Chiefs, spending time on the beach, and he always knew the closest QuikTrip to grab his Coke. Known as a true "shoe nut," he likely had more pairs than Mahomes himself.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, Angel Burress of Oregon, Robyn (Joel) Hanson of Colorado, Alisha (Nick) Macha of Lee's Summit, MO, and Rocky (Solenice) Burress of Oregon; his 97 year old mother, Marti Phipps of Kansas City, MO; sister, Diane (Joe) Caudillo of Kansas City, MO; brother, Dan (Shawna) Phipps of Garden City, MO; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he cherished and had so much fun with.

Dave, we hope you're having the time of your life teeing off on Heaven's golf course, cold Coke in hand and the perfect pair of shoes on your feet.
