David Gene Byrd, of London, Kentucky, was born on September 5, 1971, in Covington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Ewell Scott and Ida Mae Byrd House of London.

David is survived by his three children, Tori Byrd, David Byrd, and Zachary Thomas, all of London; three siblings, Sharlietta House and Robert House, both of London, and Monyonia Scott of Louisville, Kentucky; as well as a host of other family and friends who deeply mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert House.

David dedicated more than twenty years of his career to collections at OneMain Financial. He was of the Baptist faith and a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals. His love for football ran deep-he not only cheered from the sidelines but also coached numerous football teams over the years, along with basketball and softball. An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also fondly remembered for his unmistakable "bird dog bark," his signature that brought laughter and smiles to all who knew him.

David Gene Byrd departed this life on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the age of 54 years, 1 month, and 15 days.
