Obituary of David Robert Calhoun
David Robert Calhoun, 90, of Puyallup Washington, passed away peacefully on April 28th 2023, surrounded by loved ones due to natural causes.
David was born on February 25, 1933 to father and mother, David & Theresa in Wilsall, Montana. David had three older sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy and Montana, a younger sister, Lawanna, and a younger brother, John. He and his three older sisters attended a one room school house which contained grades 1 thru 8. Their transportation to and from school was on horseback that all 4 of them rode at once.
David went to work for his dad at the age of 16 falling and bucking trees, which began a lifelong career in logging.
David married the love of his life, Myrtle Mary Calhoun (Nybo) on December 11, 1950. David & Myrtle went on to have 3 kids - Pamela K. Calhoun, David L. Calhoun, and Daniel J. Calhoun.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy, Lawanna, and his brother John. David is survived by his sister Montana, daughter Pamela, son's David (Theresa) and Daniel (Suzanne), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, May 12th 2023 at Hill Funeral Home - 217 East Pioneer, Puyallup WA 98372 viewing from 10-12 am. Service begins at noon, followed by a graveside service at Woodbine Cemetery - 2323 9th Street SW, Puyallup WA 98373 and reception following at The Tacoma Sportsman's Club - 16409 Canyon Road East, Puyallup WA 98375
