David L. Callis, 74, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, surrounded by his family.

David was born on June 24, 1951, in Paradise, Indiana, and graduated from Castle High School in 1969. He spent 41 years working as a truck mechanic at Alcoa in Newburgh, where he was respected for his hard work, reliability, and skill.

A man of strong faith and devotion, David was married to his beloved wife, Janice (Foster) Callis, for 50 years. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and trust in Jesus Christ.

He is also survived by his children, Sara (Matt) Price, of Sanger, Texas, and Matt (Carolyn) Callis, of Denver, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Abigail and Silas Price, and Torin and Graham Callis; his sisters Marilyn Schuble, Barbara Huffman, and Kathy Bretzinger; nephews Jason Huffman and Eric Vinson; niece Julie Gordon; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Amy, and brother Kevin.

David will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle humor, and steadfast faith. He found joy in simple things ---time with family, helping others, and living each day with gratitude. His kindness and humility touched all who knew him, and his legacy of love and faith will live on through his family.

Funeral services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday December 1 at 12pm, officiated by Reverend Doug Heiman of Blue Grass Church. Friends may visit from 2 to 4pm on Sunday November 30th and from 10am to service time on Monday.
