David L. Carlisle, age 76, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on January 10, 2025. He was born on May 23, 1948, in Canton, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Marie (Hutchison) Carlisle. Dave was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School. He went on to honorably serve our country in the United States Army. He worked at Sugardale Meats, Republic Steel, Timken, Canton Wholesale Floral,, Union Metal, Superior Computer Service and Davis Wholesale before hiring into the USPS as a Letter Carrier where he retired after 26 years. He was a member of Greenwood Christian Church, the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 238, and Moose Lodge 2219 of Easley, South Carolina.
Dave was an early computer enthusiast. He was very mechanical. Dave loved old muscle cars, fast cars, his Ford truck, his motorcycles, more recently his Harley, and the boats he had over the years. He was good at classic rock trivia. He loved to mow the yard and chill out. In his later years he enjoyed the birds and deer that he could view from the porch. He also loved to travel. He was a Christian, and he loved his family dearly. He was very friendly, and he would talk to anyone.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son David L. Carlisle, Jr., half-siblings: Kenneth Carlisle, Jr. and Beverly Ries. Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Shelley Carlisle, son Jonathon Carlisle, daughter-in-law Danene Varner-Carlisle, grandchildren Deanna, Maxwell, Douglas R., Ava, Alex, and Grace Carlisle and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings: Donna (Albert R.) Calabrese, Donald(Susan) Carlisle, Diane Modugno, Douglas L. Carlisle, and half-sibling Jim(Marsha) Carlisle, half_sister-in-law Nadyne Carlisle.
