Obituary For David Carr
Mr. David Carr, a resident of Sallis, MS, began his life filled with love, peace, and joy on February 6, 1942. David was born to the late John and Vallie B. Carr. He attended Long Creek High School. David moved to his Heavenly home on March 24, 2024.
He accepted Christ at an early age and began his Christian journey at Hill Spring Missionary Baptist Church under the stewardship of Rev. F.L. Gray. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he met His wife Maggie Mae Carr of many years. To this union two children were born, David Carr, Jr. and the late Jeannette Carr.
David was the sole owner and proprietor of many adventures. He owned and operated Carr's Fish Market and was gainfully employed with ELKAY Manufacturer Company.
In later years he returned to Mississippi where he met and married Thelma Ward Carr. David continued his entrepreneurship. He raised and sold hogs, cows, horses, vegetables, chickens, eggs, ducks, guinea, peanut and pecan brittle.
He leaves his cherished memories to his loving and devoted Son: David Carr Jr. and Elijah (Carolyn). Three grandchildren: Jeremy Carr, Jeanaya Carr, Malik Carr and a special daughter: Alba Bingham; Maggie Mae Carr, Thelma Carr; Three brothers: Joe F. Carr, LaSalle (Doris) Carr, John Carr: Two sisters: Gloria Carr (Clarence) Adams, Ruby Carr (Johnny) Cheairs. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

INTERMENT: Hill Spring Cemetery, Sallis, MS
