Obituary For David Lee Carter
- Age 64, of Dalton, GA, formerly of Abbeville, Alabama, was called home to glory on Friday, October 13, 2023. He was born December 20, 1958, to the late Willie Lee Carter, Sr. and Ida Mae Culver Carter. David was baptized at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Abbeville, Alabama. He attended Abbeville High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. David was a natural businessman in which he exercised his entrepreneurial spirit. He was preceded by his brothers, Willie Lee Carter, Jr., Alex Jerome Carter, Jerry Lee Carter, nephew, Jordan Carter.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Spann - Carter; son, Scobie Antonio Spann of Dothan, Alabama; daughters, Jarvetta (Demetrius) Rice of Cartersville, Georgia, Tomeka Aliyah Carter of Dalton, Georgia; granddaughter, Destiny Spann; siblings, Cassie (Richard) Wiggins, Carl Newsome, Mary Chappell, all of Abbeville, Alabama, James (Abigail) Carter of Montgomery, Alabama; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 P. M. at Popular Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 9568 County Road 46, Abbeville, Alabama 36310 with Rev. James Spann as Eulogist, Pastor Gerry Carter as Officiating Officer. His remains will lie in state on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. at the Stanford and Sons Funeral Home, 2378 U. S. Highway 431, Abbeville, Alabama 36310. The family will receive friends Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. at Stanford and Sons Funeral Home.
