David L. Carvell (68) of Abington, formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, December 16, 2022. Beloved husband, father, brother, son, pop pop, and friend. David battled pancreatic cancer since March 2019. David always maintained a positive attitude and fought to the end.

David graduated from Weymouth High School. He went on to study marketing at Suffolk University. David is survived by his loving wife, Regina, of 37 years, and three children, Matthew Carvell, his wife Sarah Carvell and their two children, Abigail and Natalie, Sarah Hebda and her husband Nick Hebda, Rachel Carvell and her husband Alex O'Donnell.

Beloved son of the late Frank and Margaret Carvell and brother of Jonathan Carvell and sister, Elizabeth Carvell, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to working in the medical sales field, David had many interests, including listening to a deluge of various tunes (he was lovingly referred to as DJ Davey C), he even had a longtime dream of becoming a radio host. Sports were often the enjoyed topic of conversation for David and his son Matthew, football and baseball being the top pics. Throughout his son's time in Boy Scouts, David was actively involved through volunteering in the troup. David was additionally engaged in his children's lives by assisting with coaching on their rec sports teams. For many years David volunteered for the Abington Scholarship Foundation. David was known for making multiple trips to the grocery store a week, sometimes even twice in one day. He frequently enjoyed pretending as if he knew more than he did and joking/talking with anyone or anything that would listen. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved going to a family cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee and going to a small cottage in Maine shared with family. Most mornings, he would enjoy getting up around 4 to take the family dog, Chipper, out for his morning jaunt. More than anything, David loved taking care of and spending time with his family-loving with everything he had.

A celebration of Life will be held at the United Church of Christ in Abington on January 14th at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, the Carvell family is asking for donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) in memory of David.

I met Dave when he was the park instructor in charge of the Bicknell Tennis Courts around 1974. Since then, whenever I ran into him in Weymouth and then Abington, we had a great time sharing stories of people we knew or had seen recently - always with a lot of laughter. He was a great guy who I always enjoyed seeing and talking too. RIP Dave. My condolences to his family and many friends.

I met David while he was a patron of my restaurant. I'm truly saddened to see this. He so optimistic and put up one hell of a fight. I'm was lucky to have known him. Rest easy sir. Lisa 99
