A memorial service for David Gene Cernoch, of Ellinger, is scheduled for Saturday, February 8 at 10 a.m. The family will be receiving friends from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Rosary will begin at 10:45 a.m.
David Gene Cernoch went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2025 at the age of 68 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and cancer.
David was born and raised in Weimar, Texas. He was a resident of Ellinger, Texas and worked at LCRA for 26 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside tinkering in the shed, fishing, hunting, playing dominoes, and dancing to his favorite country hits.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia (Heger) Cernoch; father, Zigmund Cernoch; and sister, Clare Marie (Cernoch) Coleman.
David is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Melissa Shade (Royce), Laura Behrens (Jarrod), Jenna Cernoch (April), Dino Hoelscher (Lisa) and Becky Byte (David); grandchildren, Alexandria, Brittany, Briley, Shelby, Landon, Zane, Faith, Alyssa (Dylan), Abby, and Colby (Darden).; great grandchildren, Ellamae, Isaac, Jeremiah, Noah, Tracer, Kaislynn, and Baler; brothers, Marvin (Catherine), Charles (Barbara), Donald (Marie); sisters, Janell Ellison (Bill), Rita Srubar (Bob), Sister MaryBeth Cernoch OVISS; and brother-in-law, Gary Coleman.
Honorary Pallbearers are Royce Shade, Dino Hoelscher, Jarrod Behrens, Dylan Smith.
