Joy Camille Hostetter, a beloved homemaker, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, in Muldoon, Texas. She was born on July 29, 1940, in Houston, Texas, and dedicated her life to nurturing her family and serving her community through her unwavering faith.
A wonderful mother and grandmother, Joy centered her life around the love for her children and grandchildren. She often cherished the moments spent with her family, friends and her son’s friends, who would affectionately visit "Memaw," a testament to the warmth and kindness that radiated from her welcoming home. Joy excelled in creating a loving atmosphere, sharing her hospitality with all who entered her space.
Her contributions extended beyond her family; she was actively involved in her church, serving in women's Bible studies and surrounding herself with the community. Joy's gentle spirit was complemented by her interests in tennis, collecting elephant figurines, playing bridge and hobbies that brought joy to her life and those around her.
Joy is survived by her loving family, including her son Bob (Donna) Saunders and Michael (Pimy) Saunders, and her cherished grandchildren Paul (Krystal) Saunders, Luke Saunders, Michael Jr. (Christina) Saunders, Madison (Julio Castellano) Saunders, and McKenzie. Joy also took great pride in her great-grandchildren: Landry, Blakely, Lyndee, Charlee, Payton, Preston, Katie, and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Ray Michael Hostetter, and her sister, Wanda Faye Saunders. Joy was also the daughter of Herman Williams and Shirley (Haynes) Williams.
Joy Camille Hostetter will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, her steadfast devotion to her faith and family, and her enriching presence in the lives of her friends and community. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate through the many lives she touched.
