Rebecca Hostetter, a member of the Salem community, left this world on January 22, 2026. She was born on May 7, 1961, in Salem, Ohio, and she spent her life contributing to the warmth and spirit of her hometown.A graduate of Salem High School, class of 1979, Becky's warmth and compassion defined her both personally and professionally. She worked at Ricky's English Pub, where her friendly demeanor made her a well-loved figure among patrons. Known for her love of cooking, she greatly enjoyed preparing meals for those around her, contributing her skills to numerous local organizations and benefits. Many people in the community fondly remember her not only for her exceptional dishes but also for her unyielding spirit and support.
Rebecca was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and actively participated in the Salem Amvets, where she continued to serve and uplift her neighbors. She enjoyed listening to music. However most important was she could always be found attending and supporting her family's events and performances.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lonnie Hostetter, whom she married on July 12, 1980. Together they raised three children: Shain Hostetter, Chelsey (Randy) Stith, and Sonn (Lauren Humphreys) Hostetter. Becky's legacy continues through her five adoring grandchildren: Hailie Hostetter, Brenton Stith, Karlie Stith, Ayden Stith, and Jaxon Humphreys. Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Hermine (Roth) Burson, and two siblings, Chet Burson and Kathy Fisher.
A Service of Remembrance for family and friends will be held at a later date. In every memory shared, in every meal prepared, Rebecca Hostetter's spirit will continue to nourish and uplift those whose lives she was a part of.
