David A. Chamberlin

David Alan Chamberlin, age 68 of Hastings, MI passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 20, 1957, to Gordon and Maxine Chamberlin (Smith). Dave graduated from Delton-Kellogg High School in 1976 and stayed close friends with many of his classmates. He truly cared about people and had a special place in his heart for both family and friends. Dave worked in the summers when he was in high school at Wesley Woods Camp. He worked at Felpausch in Delton in his Senior year of high school and after he graduated, where he met the love of his life, Cindy Humphreys. They were married in Kanley Chapel on June 18, 1977. Dave worked as a route salesman for Coca Cola then moved on to Frito-lay as a route salesman. It wasn't long before Dave was promoted to a District Sales Manager. He began working at Borden Foods and eventually worked his way up to being a Regional Manager. He was given another opportunity he couldn't refuse and worked as a Sales Manager at Purchases Sales, headquartered in Gaylord. From Purchases Sales, Dave moved on to become a Distribution Manager at Country Fresh in Grand Rapids. Then on to Cedar Crest Dairy in Hudsonville, and lastly, Tru Green Lawn Care in Portage, feeling a need to get back into sales, his happy place. Dave retired in 2024 but missed being around people. He thought it might be fun to work at a golf course. He worked at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Ada as a starter and made yet another great group of friends.
Dave was survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy, sons Evan (Erica), Drew (Carissa), and Adam (Clare), Father, Gordon, Brothers, Steve and Mike (Wendy), and his beloved grandchildren Peyton, Grace, Poppy, Gemma and Oslo. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, special friends, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Maxine, Step-Mother Jo, Father-in-Law, Donald, and Mother-in-Law Dorothy. At his request, Dave has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at The First Presbyterian Church in Richland at 6pm with visitation before the service from 4:00-6:00pm. Memorial Contributions may be made in Dave's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan.
