Funeral services for Rev. David Herbert Chapman, 81, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, November 3, 2023, at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, with Dr. Marty Black, Rev. Clovis Sturdivant, and Bo Leporati officiating. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.

David was born on October 18, 1942, in Delhi, Louisiana, and passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023, in Monroe, Louisiana.

Rev. Chapman was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church where he taught his beloved men’s Sunday school class. He also served as a pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Many, Louisiana; White Avenue Baptist Church in Bastrop, Louisiana; and Good Hope Baptist Church of West Monroe, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Juanita Chapman; and his twin sister, Julia Juanita Chapman.

David is survived by his wife, Melinda Strange Chapman; his daughters, Julie Chapman Brasfield and her husband, Buster, Ginger Chapman Morris and her husband, Craig, and Jessica Chapman Shelton and her husband, Danny; brothers, Ralph Chapman and his wife, Ramona, Arden Chapman and his wife, Melanie; sisters, Elma Jo Elms and her husband, Chris, and Amanda Roka; five grandchildren, Tristan Polk, Vivian Brasfield, Chasey Morris, Bryce Brasfield, and Giana LaPietra; and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bo Leporati, Robert Roka, Bryce Brasfield, Buster Brasfield, Craig Morris, and Riley Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church men’s Sunday school class.

Memorials can be made to the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church building fund.
