David Allen Christensen, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2024.
David (Christy) was born March 22, 1938 to Mandell and Mildred Christensen in Albert Lea, MN and attended the Albert Lea school system. Later in life, Christy married Judy M. Prochnow on August 29, 1998.
Christy’s early career, included employment with the Minnesota Highway Department, Engineering Division where he served as a draftsman and inspector. After his service to the state, he owned and operated Albert Lea Steel until his retirement in 1996. Which he purchased from his father.
An avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman; Christy traveled the USA, Canada, Africa, Argentina and New Zealand accompanied by Judy or his many friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul.
He is survived by his wife Judy Christensen (25 years), two stepchildren, three step grandchildren, his sister-in-law Mary Christensen, and two nieces and one nephew.
Celebration of life at Bayview Funeral Home. May 11, 2024: Visitation 1pm, 2pm service with social time to follow. Private immediate-family burial.
In leu of flowers, donations appreciated to Minnesota Conservation Volunteer (844-245-7115), St. Croix Hospice or Crossroads Church Albert Lea.
