DAVID JOHN CLAUSEN, age 92 died on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Born on October 25, 1932, he was the son of Herbert and Eveline (Krueger) Clausen. He graduated from Pemberton High School in 1951and married Lorraine Witt on January 2, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.
David farmed, raised sheep, and had a dairy herd. He later quit milking and sold seed and insurance. He was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf where he served as an elder and usher for many years. He was also past president of the Farmers Union. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fishing trips to Canada, hauling cattle to stock yards, and casual conversations.
He is survived by his children, Denise (Gene) Liner of Houston, TX, Judith (Thomas) Shupien of Fridley, Gloria Clausen of Waseca, Roger Clausen of Mankato, and two grandchildren, Lee and Caleb. He is also survived by one sister, Sharon (Royce) Doering of Good Thunder. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine in 2012; and brothers, Douglas (Barbara) Clausen and Ronald (Lois) Clausen.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf with Pastor Larry Sipe officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at First Lutheran Cemetery in Waldorf.
