David Wayne Cogdill, 64, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025.
He was born January 16, 1960 to Billy Eugene and Sharon Gail (Crafton) Cogdill in St. Joseph, Missouri.
David married Sherri Michelle Harrison on December 31, 2004. She survives of the home.
His dedication to the nation was evident in his distinguished military career. He honorably served for four years in the Marines, a year in the Army, and concluded his service in the Air National Guard as a Senior Master Sergeant on the 139th Airlift Wing, retiring after 30 years. Throughout his tenure, he bravely served during many conflicts, including Afghanistan and Desert Storm, earning the respect and admiration of his peers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; children, Hunter Cogdill (Morgan), Maverick Cogdill (Katlyn), Ashley Moody (Brian), Kristen White (Justin), Elizabeth Cowden, and Ashley Cowden; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Debbie Mace (Leon), Billy Cogdill, Dan Cogdill (Becky), and Kevin Riley; extended family and friends.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
