A memorial service for David Patrick Conner, 71, will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Officiating the service will be Reverend Cecil Marr, of North Shreve Baptist Church and Reverend Roy Davis of Gray Baptist Church.

David, fondly known as “Big Dave,” was born on December 12, 1952 to Emory “Red” Willard Conner and Theresa Grace Conner in Lubbock, Texas, and passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana

In his early years, David’s career led him to Brookshire’s Grocery Store, where he met the love of his life, Linda. After pursuing her with unwavering persistence, they shared a beautiful journey that would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this April. Transitioning to General Motors, David not only excelled in his professional endeavors but also cultivated lifelong friendships under the endearing moniker of “Big Dave.”

A man deeply committed to his faith, David was an active member of North Shreve Baptist Church, where he served in numerous positions over the years. He was known as the key holder because he was always the last one to leave and lock up the buildings until his health began to fail. He loved working with the youth at the church. Alongside his wife, the two shared a passion for helping lead the youth in the direction that the Lord had planned for them. David may have appeared to be big and tough, but he was always eager to help and lend his time to all who needed it. David truly had a big heart.

David had a love of photography. He was the official photographer at Vacation Bible School every year that he was physically able to.  He loved taking pictures of nature, his family, and his beloved pets. He loved being out in nature. He and his family would spend many weekends at Cypress Lake camping and fishing. He would often invite friends and family so that he could spend time with the people he loved most. His granddaughter, Hayley was his favorite fishing buddy, fishing together as often as possible. David didn’t cook often but he was known for loving to barbecue and cook spaghetti. He had a special BBQ pit made so he could cook large quantities for his church family. He loved making his mother’s ‘suga’ spaghetti sauce. As a family, they often tried their best to replicate her recipe, but it just never seemed to be as good as hers.

David is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Samuel Conner. He is survived by, his wife, Linda Conner; children, Stacy Wyatt, Stephanie Conner, and Samantha Conner; granddaughter, Hayley Wyatt; beloved dog, Copper; sister, Gloria Jean Carter and husband, Charles Carter; sister-in-law, Janice “Cookie” Conner and numerous nieces and nephews.
