Mr. David Richard Corbett Jr., age 70, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of West Palm Beach and Mt. Dora, peacefully passed away at home on Friday afternoon, February 3, 2023.
Born in Lake County, Florida, he was the beloved son of Beverly Ann Corbett and the late David Richard Corbett Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Central Florida and received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. David was retired and previously worked for Lakeland Electric for 27 years. He was very proud of the self-supporting electrical poles he designed.
In his spare time, David enjoyed metal detecting, opera, and researching nutrition and health. David was known for his intelligence and kindness. Many people depended on him and he will be dearly missed.
David is survived by his son David R. Corbett III and his wife Corie; his daughter Elizabeth A. Kilpatrick and her husband William. He was Papa to granddaughters Emalina, Elabria, Avaleah, and expecting his first grandson, Arthur, in April. He is also survived by his mother Beverly Ann Corbett of Eustis, FL and his sister Lisa Givens of Butler, TN, and her children Sarah, Charlie, and Jessie.
A gathering will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 12:00PM -1:00PM with a funeral service to begin at 1:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish (address 226 E. Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL 32778). Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. A graveside service will follow at the Tavares Cemetery.
