Dr. David Simkin

On this second anniversary of David´s death I shared my first year´s anniversary entry with my wife, Margo. I told the story of their mother whispering a special message into each child´s ear, "You are my favorite!" They were instructed never to share these words with their siblings. My wife said, "When was the last time you shared this story?" My reply, "Yesterday!"
David and his beautiful family remain very close to my heart.
Sincerely, Dr. David Simkin

On this first anniversary of David´s death I would like to share a story told by one of his sisters: "Each Christmas Eve our mother would whisper something into each child´s ear, but first making us promise that it was `their secret,´ never to be shared.´ The words that followed were, `You are my favorite!´ It apparently took 40 years before this "secret" was shared. What a magnificent mother they had! I salute the Cosette family on this day - and every day thereafter. Sincerely, Dr. Simkin

I have been honored to serve as one of David´s physicians for the past 18 years. When I was a young boy, my father, a surgeon, told me that being a doctor affords one the opportunity to meet a stranger who, over time, may become one of your priceless friends. I must say that my time with the Cossettes has been so special. Feeling the love within this fine family, each and every visit, I feel so privileged to know them. This is the way life should be lived. I now grieve David´s loss as if he were a member of my own household. But I will also celebrate his spirit, his beautiful smile, and his wonderful brothers and sisters forever. Dr. David Simkin, Chelmsford
