David Crider Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home - New Braunfels on Mar. 12, 2026.
David Lee Crider, 94, passed away on March 11, 2026, in New Braunfels, Texas, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

He was born on September 18, 1931, in Bartow County, Georgia, to Harley Lee and Elmira Lorena Crider, whose values of resilience, humility, and devotion shaped the man he would become.

David lived a life marked by service, hard work, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Technical Sergeant after a distinguished career. His dedication to duty and country remained a defining part of his character throughout his life. After his military service, David continued to build and contribute to his community through his work in construction, later transitioning to Civil Service before retiring once more with the same quiet dignity that guided all his endeavors.

On April 14, 1966, David married Brigitta M. Breidbach, the love of his life and his steadfast companion for nearly six decades. Together they built a family rooted in love, strength, and deep connection. David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose gentle presence and steady guidance enriched the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brigitta M. Crider; his sons, Steve Richard Crider and David Lamar Crider; his daughters, Sara Diane Almand (Johnnie) and Andrea Hildegard Owen (Roland); six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Each generation carries forward a part of his legacy-his kindness, his integrity, and his enduring love for family.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Lee and Elmira Lorena Crider, and his daughter, Deborah Suzanne Gray. Though he has left this earthly life, the memories he created and the love he shared remain deeply rooted in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

His life was a testament to quiet strength, steadfast devotion, and the simple, profound beauty of a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
