David M. Cunningham, age 88, Navy Veteran. Beloved husband of Carol Peters Cunningham; devoted son of the late Elmo and the late Martha Cunningham; loving father of Michael (the late Lisa) Cunningham and Kelley Cunningham (Peter Grieshop); cherished grandfather of Rachel and Paige Grieshop; fond brother of Sally (the late Frank) Wills; dearest step-father of Raymond (Sue) Peters and Kenneth (the late Carol) Peters; step – grandfather of Jeff (Emily) Peters and Alyssa Peters (Nathan Royer) and step – great-grandfather of Jeffrey and Charlie. Extended family in North Carolina, South Carolina, and North Dakota. David was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien. Entombment and military honors will take place on Monday November 10, 2025 1:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL. 60421.
